The Ship: Passaat (Dutch for tradewind) is a classic steel gaff rigged schooner. With her 75 feet length over deck (100 feet including the bow sprit) she offers plenty of room to relax in the shade of her permanent awning or to find a tranquil place for sunbathing.

Route: Passaat, different than the rest of our selection of charter yachts, has a fixed itinerary: she sails between Martinique and Union and visits the Windward Islands including St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the summer.

The trip north from Union to Martinique takes 7 days (Monday morning to Sunday afternoon) and the trip south from Martinique to Union 8 (boarding Monday afternoon, disembark Monday morning). Passaat takes individual bookings, so this is a great opportunity to meet people!

In the winter she sails from St. Maarten.

Accommodation: Passaat has 5 guestcabins: 1 double with shower and toilet, two larger doubles each with its own toilet and shower and two doubles with shared bathroom. Crew has a separate cabin/bathroom.

The Crew: Captain Pieter has been chartering traditional and modern boats in Europe, the Atlantic and the Caribbean for over 20 years and now shares his vast experience and love for the sea with you!

Cuisine: Local cooks are employed. Their culinary skills encompass both European and Caribbean cooking. This is a unique opportunity to try out some local Caribbean creole food!
